| ニューヨーク・フイルム・アカデミーは、ロバート・デニーロのトライベッカ・フイルムセンタービル内に11年前に創立いたしました。以来、スティーブン・スピルバーグの息子マックス・スピルバーグ、ジェームス・ボンド役で有名なピアス・ブロスナンの息子クリス・ブロスナン、アカデミー賞受賞俳優F・マーレー・エイブラハムの息子、映画監督リュック・べッソン（『フィフス・エレメント』『二キータ』）の妹や映画監督ピーター・ボグダノヴィッチの娘など数多くのハリウッド・ファミリーが当校を映画制作を学ぶ場として選び、当ワークショップにて彼らの作品を制作していることを大変誇りに思います。同時に、映画畑とは全く無縁の生徒たちの中から、数々の素晴らしい作品が生まれていることも大変誇りとしています。 映画制作を目指す者にとって最良の道とは、実践的かつ集中的な制作環境のもと自身の映画制作に迅速に取り組むこと『とにかく映画を作る！』ことだと信じ、当校では、全ての生徒が入学した週から映画制作をスタートします。 New York Film Academy

| 映画関連の仕事に就きたい皆様、必見のプログラム。数々の映画の舞台として いわずと知れた世界の首都、ニューヨーク、どこを歩いても映画のワンシーンを 思い起こさせるこの街で、１週間のプログラムから自分の作品を制作できる『フィ ルム（映画）・メイキング・プログラム』。当時ハリウッドで活躍をしていた映画プロ デューサー、シャーロック氏によって1991年に設立された、New York Film Academy は、設立からまもなくその独特の実践重視のカリキュラムが話題を呼 び、世界中で現役で活躍する多くの映画プロデューサーや男優・女優、映画関 連業務に携わる人々がNew York Film Academyで学んだ経験持つ。プロのフィ ルム・ディレクター（映画監督）を目指す１年間プロフェッショナル養成コースで は、大学４年間で学ぶ内容を１年間に凝縮した、まさに、最短で映画制作のノウ ハウを習得し、眠れる才能を開花させるためのHands-on-Trainingプログラム。 机に向かって理論ばかりを学ぶのではなく、とにかく、実際の映画制作のステッ プを繰り返し履修していくこのプログラムは、脚本作成、キャスティング、撮影、 編集、コンピュータ処理、映画監督等、映画制作に必要な技術を短期間で習得 できる凝縮した内容が世界中から高い評価を受けている。学校の設備は、もち ろん最新。全米TOP４といわれる映画メジャーの４年生大学とも全く引けを取ら ない。『映画制作に４年生大学の卒業証明書は必要ない。すべては、本人の能 力と才能。』と、New York Film Academyの創設者、シャーロック氏。ニューヨー ク出身のシャーロック氏は、長年ハリウッドで映画制作プロデューサーとして活 躍していた頃の経験を振り返って、こう言い切る。 |

日本ですでに映画制作に携わっている皆様も、全くの初心者の皆様も入学が可能。映画制作についての興味と情熱があることが入学の条件。毎週１本ずつのフィルムを完成させていくには、体力勝負、という面もあります。この人種の坩堝（るつぼ）ニューヨークで映画制作を学ぶ意義は、計り知れない。学校から１歩外にでれば、そこはもう映画撮影に格好のロケーション。そして、歩く人々はアーティストや作家、画家、ミュージシャン、デザイナー、俳優、シンガーが溢れる街、そんな世界の首都ニューヨークで、フィルム（映画）メイキングに挑戦してみましょう！生徒の４０％が世界中から集まる留学生、という環境も魅力。現在のところ日本人生徒は、極わずかです。 |

| Total Immersion in Digital Filmmaking |
| First and foremost a filmmaker is a storyteller. Film directors are confronted with a number of visual, dramatic, and technical challenges. Our goal is to empower students to artfully tell their stories. In all New York Film Academy workshops, students write, produce, direct, and edit their own films. Students assist other members of their crews in the roles of director of photography, assistant cameraperson, and gaffer/grip, providing everyone with extensive set experience. Learning to be a filmmaker is not done "by the numbers." It is done by immersion in the process and by knowing the "whys" that teach the "hows." It is done by hands on experience, trial and error, feedback and correction, and questions and answers. |

| The Four-Week Filmmaking program is structured around the production of three short films of increasing complexity. Students will learn writing for film, location scouting, casting, and editing. The fourth week is devoted to shooting and editing the final film, culminating in the final film screening. As in all our film workshops, each film school student writes, directs, shoots and edits a series of short film projects of his or her own using Arriflex 16mm motion picture film cameras, Lowel lighting packages, and Apple Final Cut Pro digital editing systems. Classes in directing, writing, editing, cinematography, and production cover the creative and technical demands of telling a story with moving images. The emphasis at our film school is on the films being made in the class. Each week all the students' films are screened and critiqued in class with the filmmaking instructor |
